Xaviera Hardjopawiro 'I am someone who likes to observe my surroundings, especially of people’s behaviours and it is often quite fixating. Human beings interest me because I believe they start off empty and get filled up by their surroundings, bluntly said. This complex inner process of how we obtain all this outside information in the mind is one that leaves me with a lot of unanswered questions that I freely explore in my work. In my latest work I have been using cut outs of people from old magazines in combination with three-dimensional (found)objects to create a playful installation. The idea of constant flowing information being transmitted from one form to another, i find very intriguing. The reason i use old pictures is because of the unknown history behind these people, that i am very curious about. I also like to play with the combination of two and three-dimensional objects, the process of combining these two occurs very intuitively.' // zie ook // www.xavierahardjopawiro.com |
